Okay, so I guess this site has been neglected a bit of late. I hope to rectify that soon.

No, the planning meeting will be at Paul Kupser's house on Sunday. I'm sure Steve will be by here sometime soon to pass along some more info.

is the planning meeting still on for Steve's house?

Nowhere near as fun as Ethan's announcement...
Went to the doctor today and came home with an appointment to look at the drains again on Thursday. He did say that if they didn't come out on Thursday, I'd have to come back Tuesday and on Tuesday they would come out no matter what.
Today they were on the cusp in terms of volume (about 50 cc per day) but one was still much darker than he'd have liked. Given the darkness, he decided to leave them in.

Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland is organizing the first-ever World Scout Winter Games to be held from February 28 to March 3, 2008. It will be a sporting weekend in the Alps ! Scout teams from different countries will take part in different winter sport competitions, such as alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, curling and much more.

The International Division of the Boy Scouts of America would like to send a team of six Scouts and two leaders to this event. The anticipated cost of this event is $700.00 per participant. The fee includes airline tickets, food, lodging, lift tickets and other program amenities during the trip.

The Scouts will travel from their hometown to Dallas- Fort Worth to meet the group on February 26, 2008.
They will then travel to Kandersteg International Scout Centre on February 27, 2008, and return to their home cities either March 3 or March 4, depending on flight schedules.

If you know of an individual who would make a good ambassador for the BSA, please contact LaVerne Clearly ASAP at (248) 644-7327 for an application. Nominated Scouts must be currently registered, be at least 16 years of age on February 26 and not yet 18 years of age on March 4. Only six Scouts will be selected by our selection committee. Please note that nominations must be postmarked by October 15, 2007, and require the approval of the local Scout executive.

The update:
Staples and drains are still in but I go back on Thursday when at least the drains are likely to come out. The doc seems to think I'm healing pretty well and commended Kristie on her excellent wound dressing skills.

That would be over 1,000 stitches on the inside, and 83 staples on the outside.

Wow, Over a thousand stitches or are they staples now. Reminds me of Uncle Chuck (or whoever) and the wire mesh. Great to hear you are home and rapidly recovering.

I think I'd try John Weipert. I probably have his email and phone if you haven't already done that.
I'm home now. I have a 3' (yes foot) incision, over a thousand stitches, and some good pain meds. I'm off work until at least Tuesday, but I may not be the quickest guy to rush to the phone for the next few days.
The doctor and nurses seemed to be happy with the pace of my healing. The aide who took me out today couldn't believe I had only had surgery the day before.
