We did miss the DeCourcy again. We'll have to console ourselves with being one of 8 lodges in the nation to receive the E. Urner Goodman Camping award.
Rumor has it that one reason we can't seem to beat Manitous is that they have way more service hours per active member than we do. You could help that out this weekend by coming down to the service center for some gardening action. You can read about it on migisi.org or just take the plunge and say you're coming at www.migisi.org/register.php?event_id=715&op=register

I agree Steve! Our agreement was she got her dog, I get to go to wintercamp every year. We have a dog, therefore I get to go to wintercamp. She didn't mention any exceptions!

Well, I think the key information is that it's EARLY December, so there's no reason to miss Winter Camp :)

Just wanted to let everyone know that Jenny and I are expecting our first child at the end of the year. It should be early december. I'm hoping for a boy and she's hoping for a girl. We don't know yet since it's only about 6 weeks so far.

In talking to Ron recently I was surprised to learn that there are only 5 people signed up for the WCFS class of XXXV. If you aren't Mark Bollman-->, Ron Donohue, Steve Donohue, Gordon Draper or Jeff Rand then you either haven't paid or your payment has been lost.
I know we had extended the deadline until the end of January, but I think I dropped the ball on communicating that to everyone else. I think the best answer would be for those who are interested to say they are interested so we can decide if we should keep doing this at all or not.
In the meantime, I'll work with Ethan to get a note out to eligible members in the next week or so and I think we'll have to extend the deadline to the end of May.
Jeff, can we still offer embroidered goods?
One good thing is that Ron has achieved a 7% growth on our investment y-t-d.

I don't think he offered any advice. He was trying to grill us like sew-crates. I also don't think he's the original Big Bro, who never used the Randian "low sun in sky all day time" camp and instead opted for the less clearly winter "cold time" camp.
At any rate, I think his clue from Sunday that he didn't come to XXIX very much is intended to make us think he's Jeff, so that means it probably wasn't Jeff.
As for the rest, I think the website has fallen on harder times in recent years than Winter Camp. There was a time when the mere presence of his idiocy would have brought forth a hale of invective. Instead he is barely noticed.
Face it Bro, the only thing less important to the success of Winter Camp than this website is you.

I am not sure it would have made Low Sun in Sky All Day Time Camp more than it had been in the past if I had been there, but I may have been. I will say that I did not come to as much of the year ere that one as some would have liked.

The years, it would seem, have been kind to this site. Have they been as kind to Low Sun in Sky All Day Time Camp?

Tomorrow will mark the tenth anniversary of Winter Camp on the web. From it's humble beginnings at AOL (www.wintercamp.com/ancient) until now, it's been kind of a fun trip.
I wonder where it will be in 10 more years.
