Looks like today is a significant anniversary for two original Winter Campers. "Quiet One Who Camps" is still around, but I have not seen the other guy for a few years. Congrats to Ozzie and Mr.

Today's woot is lighted golfballs. I wonder if the time has come for Nighttime CC golf.

Today is Thursday, and the surgeon did in fact remove the drain and stitches. Steve's already feeling better already. Dr. B. is pleased with the healing and wants to see Steve in a week for follow-up.

For the few people on earth that didn't hear, I had surgery on Wednesday the 21st. They removed a "neoplasm" from my right upper thigh. Today was my first follow up. The doctor said it was looking pretty good but decided I needed to keep my drain and stitches until at least Thursday.

OH, while we're talking trees, it seems that at this pace, we'll run out of time to make proper use of the trees before they go bad. Dave gave me the green light to find good homes for the trees. I gave a few bundles of White Pine plugs to some cubs in camp as living souvenirs from D-A. They leaders were very grateful and the kids seemed to really like the trees. (I like the idea of living souvenirs.)

I did in fact go back on Saturday. I managed to get two of our scouts to go with me, and together we planted about 160 more trees. We planted the empty spaces in the first 5 rows of trees behind Dave's house. Filled in empty spaces in the main lot, as well as the one across the road behind the museum. After that we replaced the dead trees at Clearwater.
Obviously I would like to have gotten more trees into the ground, but all things considered it was a relatively productive day.

More help would definitely have been welcome. The 12-15 promised by the EMU fraternity turned out to be 2. We still got about 800 planted. Kristie is going back on Saturday if anyone is interested.

D-A got about 2000 future Christmas trees donated. They're going to plant them at Mix-Fix this Saturday around 8:00 am. If anyone wants to come out and help plant trees I can promise a good lunch and a great dinner. Let me know.
Since this is mix-fix it's pretty much adults only. We can also probably hook you up with a bed if you'd rather come Friday night.

Does the 'you only get one if you ask how many you get' rule apply to first time campers?
