I got my copy of FITS a few days ago. Those game companies ought to give Steve a commission.

This was no fun. My initial call was at 8:00 am. I called every hour until 1:00 pm when I finally got a call back. He told me he'd check the warehouse and call back. Luckily, caller id gave me his cell and I was able to call him back 90 minutes later when he hadn't called yet. Finally got a new box shortly after 4:00 pm
The new box is tiny, about 1/3 of the size of the old one. It seems to be much more sensitive to my breathing.

So my cpap machine stopped working this morning. I keep calling the 24 hour emergency number where they promise someone will call soon. Awesome. I guess at least it didn't happen at camp.

Just a quick update on the Winter Camp Future Society (WCFS) money.
We had $493.50 as of WC XXXII. I kept the money in a money market account for most of the first quarter then invested the money in the market, primarily in real estate equities, through the remainder of 2009. There were no long real term holds, as markets were very volatile and the return on a more active trading strategy seemed attractive. So, lots of short term holds and quick trades.
Rates earned in money market account during the first quarter were minimal, but once the trading picked up things went very well.
So, to make a long story short, the overall return on the WCFS money for 2009 as of December 9, 2009 is 45.16% and the total in the account as of December 9, 2009 is $716.36.
This was an exceptional year from a return perspective and it would probably be wise to assume more normal returns (6-10%) going forward.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ron Donohue

Also, Winter Camper Gordon Draper was one of the last men standing in the Arrowman Countdown. I think he's up to 57 years in the lodge.

Winter Campers cleaned up at the Annual Dinner on Wednesday. Gabe Church and Corey Curtiss received the Founder's award. Gabe and potential camper Tim Leong (immediate past Mahican Chapter chief) were installed as Treasurer and Executive Vice Chief.
Dave announced that our projects would mostly be related to the Jack Lord Firebowl and a new site for Brotherhood Ceremonies. He also promised us 15 lbs of sausage.

So if anyone is home tomorrow and bored, we could use some help serving a dinner for our chartered partner. The event starts at 6:00 pm at the Lincoln Park Eagles (about 1 block north of Champaign on the east side of Dix. It is a uniformed event, although at this point, we'd be happy just to have warm bodies (we have some loaners and could take some of our cooks who have uniforms and reassign them as waiters).
If you can help, we'll buy dinner (well, the Eagles will) and can probably help scouts with some money towards camping. Please call or email me if you're interested.
