Current Entry: Great Cola Challenge
This unscheduled Winter Camp XIV event was spearheaded by Roger Horn. As he listened to the semi-traditional Winter Camp clash between the relative merits of Coca-Cola and Pepsi, including the ongoing clash over which beverage is really "rotgut", he decided to put the combatants to the test. Samples of six colas (Coca-Cola from Michigan and New Jersey, Faygo, Meijer's, Pepsi, and RC) were rapidly procured, and a blind taste test was staged among eleven participants. The results proved most illuminating: while purely random guessing would have been expected to produce a 16.7% success rate, the collective Winter Camp percentage was only 22.7%. Moreover, if the highly successful scores of Jeff Rand and Doug Wilson, who each identified 4 of 6 correctly, were removed from the data set, the cumulative percentage dropped to 13.0%. In the words of the Winter Camp News: "Clearly, the results speak for themselves."
