Current Entry: Emperor's Chair Race
The Emperor's Chair Race was conducted at Winter Camp XXXV. Two teams, each with a designated &uot;emperor&uot;, were challenged to use pioneering techniques to build a chair and then transport their leader over a predetermined course beginning and ending at the Beaver Creek building. A lesson leaned from the challenge was the importance of preliminary design work; also found to be important was the need for experience when engaging the services of a pioneering crew. Emperor Jazz Man's team took its minimalist design that successfully conquered the Beaver Lake dam in the first leg of the race on to victory. Emperor Timmy's team was far less successful. The chair proved too much for its crew to carry, and was soon converted to a drag sled at considerable cost to the umbrella incorporated into its design. Timmy himself was forced to join his subjects in shame as they bore the tattered remnants of their chair back to the staging area.
