At Winter Camp XXX, Andrew Curtiss and Shaun Range both declared themselves fit to lead Winter Camp XXXI. In the negotiations that addressed this unprecedented situation, it was decided to hold an election among the youth at camp. On Day Three, the candidates made their pitches to the assembled campers. Shaun won the election.
At Winter Camp XXXI, an organized effort to start planning Winter Camp XXXII on the last day of camp saw four Scouts declare their candidacy for youth leader. After two rounds of voting, Robert Fountain was selected as leader, and the para-military &uot;Operation Winter Camp&uot; was selected as the theme.
These plebescites invalidated the limerick for Winter Camp VII, which asserted that after enduring the first democratically-elected leader in Winter Camp history, we would no go down that road again.
