Current Entry: Busby Berkeley Choreography
On Day Three at Winter Camp XXXIV, the calendar placed Winter Camp in the quartercentury running from 1961 to 1985. This was the era of splashy stage productions, and Winter Camp made a small contribution, following in the footsteps of Busby Berkeley, on Clearwater Field after 4-Way Volleyball. This mix of loose approximations to both music and dance was performed under the direction of Steve Donohue.
The performance focuses on gunplay, in the Charlie's Angels mode, that heralds the blooming of a great mystical orange flower in the midst of the winter snows. Playing co-lead roles as the flower were Keith (K2) King and Will Gagnon, and they were supported by six gunslingers and eight rotating attendants. The completed production awaits a distribution or suppression deal.
