Current Entry: Beaver Creek
This D-A subcamp was the home of the first 36 Winter Camps and was expected to host Winter Camp XXXVII until the December 2013 ice storm took out many electrical wires at D-A, seeing the ranch closed and Winter Camp relocated to Silver Trails Scout Reservation. Following that one-year exodus, Winter Camp returned to its traditional home grounds in 2014. With that one exception, the cabin of the same name housed Downriver, Mahican, and Migisi Opawgan Arrowmen each December from Winter Camp II in 1978 through Winter Camp XL in 2016. Winter Camps XLI and XLII returned to Trout Lake out of concern for camp veterans' health, but the boundaries of the Winter Camp universe are taken to coincide, most of the time, with the boundaries of BC subcamp. Several camp traditions, including the Time Capsule Hike and Cross-Country Golf, have returned to their ancestral homes in Beaver Creek, and the cabin's attic continues to store Winter Camp's equipment. At Winter Camp XLII, the empty cabin was deep cleaned as part of the service project.
