Current Entry: Winter Camp XLIV
Winter Camp XLIV was, thanks to the Covid-19 crisis, held in two different sessions. Winter Camp at Camp was held December 27-28 and December 30-31, 2020. Winter Camp at Home was held mostly in camper's homes from December 27-31, 2020 with a family and group activity each day. There were a total of 34 attendees, 12 of whom were youth. The youth leader was Matt Grimble and the adviser was Doug Wilson. Jeff Rand and Matt supervised activities at Camp and Tim Pfeiffer and Ethan Rein handled the At Home portion of the event. Plans for a day camp style event were scuttled when new restrictions made meeting impossible.
The catchphrase for the year was Not Quite Doomsday because Winter Camp survived the Covid-19 plague and the shutdown of much of the Scouting program in Michigan. During Winter Camp at Camp, John Ferencz routed out a sign bearing this slogan which was left on display at the close of Winter Camp.
The event scored 138 on the Winter Camp Evaluation system as of January 2021 but that score may be incomplete.
