Current Entry: Violent Vocabulary
This game was part of the Pentathlon at Winter Camp XLII. Three countries competed by throwing darts at a board which had 200 3 × 5 cards, each of which had one letter or was blank. The distribution of letters and blank spaces was based on the tiles used for the board game Scrabble, which has 100 tiles. Scrabble was also the basis for the point values of the tiles. One deviation was that blanks were accorded one point. Participants took turns throwing three darts at the board and collecting the tiles that were hit by their darts. Once each participant threw three darts, the countries used their letters to make words. Each letter used in a word contributed to the countries' scores. There was no penalty for leaving letters unused. The dart board was set up in front of the kitchen in Trout Lake cabin, and BRANNES emerged victorious. (ER)
