Trout Lake cabin hosted Winter Camp XXXII after the bugout when the power failed in Beaver Creek on Day Two, and this involuntary move constituted something of a trial run for future Winter Camps. While the indoor plumbing, expanded kitchen, and larger dining area were advantages, the fact that the kitchen lacked a freezer was seen as a negative, as was the increased rental charge for the bigger building.
In the next Winter Camp decade, occasional special events were held at TL. These included Casino Night at Winter Camps XXXII (before the bugout) and XXXVIII, and the Luncheon at Club Trout Lake, also at Winter Camp XXXVIII. This meal was held in the midst of the Winter Camp Triathlon, between Cross-Country Golf and Cross-Country Kickball. Winter Camp XL's Epic Anniversary Dinner also moved out of Beaver Creek to this larger site. A freezer did appear in the kitchen during the intervening years.
Winter Camp XLI moved to Trout Lake for health and safety reasons, which led to renewed talk of moving Winter Camp more permanently. One ongoing complication would be that the majority of camp equipment was stored each year in the Beaver Creek attic. Winter Camp XLII was also housed at Trout Lake.
