Current Entry: Spamsgiving Dinner
While there was no lobster thermidor aux crevettes with a Mornay sauce, garnished with trufle pat´e, brandy, and a fried egg on top, the Spamsgiving Dinner at Winter Camp XLI proved perhaps more satisfying a meal than many had expected. On the bill of fare were eggs and SPAM, SPAM macaroni and cheese, SPAM burgers, and SPAM and eggs, as well as baked beans, shrubbery salad, bug juice, and coconut macaroons. The meal was capped off with wafer-thin mints garnished with candy cane-flavored Pop Rocks-a more-than-acceptable substitute for trufle pat´e. These Pop Rocks were ordered from amazon.com and shipped directly to camp. Kieran Bledsoe endorsed the meal's main foodstuff when he stated that "SPAM tastes like concentrated Vienna sausages."
This meal's long-term future is still undetermined, but it was suggested that SPAM and eggs join the menu for the Winter Camp Historic Banquet, which includes one unique foodstuff from each Winter Camp, served then and never before or since. We would, of course, remain free to enjoy eggs and SPAM.
