Lunch on Day Four of Winter Camp XXXVII, the service project day, was intended to include official MRE's. When they failed to materialize, campers improvised reasonably palatable lunch fixings-probably more palatable than real MRE's. Candy bars-Snickers, Twix, and Kit Kat-were served to close out the meal, honoring the presence of chocolate bars in many field rations.
At Winter Camp XXXVIII, Winter Camp's second attempt at the MREapalooza was greatly enhanced by the actual presence of MRE's-for the youth, at least. Joe Warren found the bill of fare quite tasty, which suggests that anyone cooking for Joe in the future is facing a very low bar for success.
The adults, on the other hand, were forced to contend with the leftover enchiladas from the Mexican Team Dinner. None of them objected too strenuously.
