Current Entry: Mark Bollman
Mark Bollman first attended Winter Camp in 0 and attended sporadically until 2021; he has attended 45 so far. Mark called Troop 1373 home. Members of the Lodge recognized his service with the Vigil Honor in 1980. His Vigil name is Elangomat Chesimus which means Friend to younger brothers.
Mark--> is a Michigan native, professor of mathematics at Albion College with a 2001 Ph.D. in mathematics from Central Michigan University and previous higher education at Northwestern University and The University of Michigan. His dissertation is in combinatorial and algebraic number theory; he is also interested in mathematics history, mathematical comedy, chaos theory, probability, old (and new) calculators, and really, really large numbers.
Of late, he's been working and writing in the field of gambling mathematics. His books: Basic Gambling Mathematics; The Numbers Behind The Neon (2014), Mathematics of Keno and Lotteries (2018), and Mathematics of Casino Carnival Games (2020) have all been published by CRC Press/Taylor & Francis. Mathematics of the Big Four Casino Table Games will follow in the fall of 2021.
