At the Winter Camp XVII planning meeting, it was noted by many participants that the alphabetized activities lists, both live and dead, ended with Xanth Day. Numerous suggestions from various quarters moved to fill this gap, often with little regard for practicality. Among the more arcane suggestions were Zamboni construction, yak steak meal, zymurgy (fermentation chemistry), yarn ball making contest, and yodeling. Joe Hall took top honors for arcanity when he proposed yak herding as a competitive event. When questioned just prior to the vote, he explained that this would be a team competition, where teams would square off to see who could herd the fewest yaks into their pen. His suggestion received 10 votes, and will be found on the Dead List in the future.
