Current Entry: Prohibition
As Winter Camp XXXIV spent its first day in the years from 1910 to 1935, an evening event commemorated America's Prohibition years. Paul Kupser purchased over 40 cans of pop as an adjunct to the Mexican Dinner. When he went to retrieve his purchase, he discovered that the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was in force, and that the transport, manufacture, or consumption of carbonated beverages had been prohibited in the Winter Camp Universe. A battle broke out in the evening between bootleggers and the singing G-Men, as the former sought to break through the latter's defenses and return soft drinks to the Beaver Creek building. The agents of the government proved the equal of nearly every physical challenge brought against them by the forces of evil, and in the end, only Timmy Kasprzak was able to breach their perimeter-and then only with 8 cans of Coca-Cola.
