Current Entry: Mom and Apple Pie Dinner
Following the Working Mom Lunch at Winter Camp XXXIV, which was a nod to the 1970's, the calendar was reversed for a dinner more from the early 1960's. Pot roast was prepared in the Winter Camp roaster oven. There was a considerable break between the end of the main feeding of the Mom and Apple Pie Dinner and the serving of an assortment of pies-apple, dark cherry, chocolate, and blueberry-with vanilla ice cream. In the words of observer Doug Wilson, "When you feed people 20 pounds of beef, they don't want dessert."
