The challenge at Winter Camp II was not, as some suspected going into this hike, to reach as high an elevation as possible. Rather, it was to remain at the same elevation for the duration of a hike in the woods behind the Beaver Creek Nature Center-in essence, to follow a contour line back to the starting point.
