Encyclopedia WinterCampica - Chinese Prohibition

An exercise in general smuggling was contested at Winter Camp XXXVI as the Ancient Chinese thematic equivalent of the Prohibition event from Winter Camp XXXIV. The birds were singing and it was all fun and games for Winter Campers on the evening of Day Two. Little did the Arrowmen realize the battle between two teams that would take place that evening. The Crusaders started off in the Beaver Creek dining pavilion and were given the task of smuggling General Saung across no man's land to Cow Camp. Meanwhile, the Night Hawks were smuggling General Sun Tzu, the Artist of War, from High Point through the lowlands to Highland.

The warriors of both generals were on the lookout for the art of deception. Unbeknownst to each other, both generals had the idea to escape the enemy's mechanical eyes by taking the trail less traveled past Trout Lake. This led to a great conflict between them. The Crusaders opted first to build a Great Wall along the roadway, which the Night Hawks attempted to Red Rover their way through. In the resulting scuffle, though, the Hawks fell apart in the heat of battle. Thankfully, they soldiered on, with their general's head and body intact, to the endpoint. During the scuffle, General Saung showed his yellow streak and left his men to fight while he beat a cowardly retreat to the final camp.

The outcome of the battle remains in question. (GC)
