Encyclopedia WinterCampica - Behind Enemy Lines

This wide game kicked off Winter Camp XXXIV and started the Weekette with a trip back in time. Shortly after 1 PM WCST, WCXX, Channel 120 in Lapeer, broadcast an account of a joint Iranian-German-North Korean takeover of most major world cities, leaving only tiny splinter groups to resist this triple unholy alliance. Three teams of Winter Campers rose to meet the challenge, but found themselves entangled in a far more complicated battle after successfully transmitting their messages across camp.

Modern communications methods were deemed worthless due to enemy monitoring, so these intrepid adventurers were forced to resort to more time-honored means of transmitting messages. Semaphore signaling combined with the hose-a-phone strung through the woods to make it possible for the three groups-one housed near Grand View, one on the Beaver Creek peninsula, and one near the Last Ceremony site-to pass important messages along. Each team was also directed to build a fire, largely as a time-killing measure.

The first message passed through the hose-a-phone called for information from the "electric noodle" at the Beaver Creek building. The peninsula team flagged down the crew in Grand View, which sent a runner down to the BC building to retrieve the required number, 664. This was relayed back up to the Last Ceremony site team, which recovered an important artifact and assembled all three teams. While any Scout who has earned the Citizenship in the Community merit badge knows full well, when calling 911, not to hang up until the responders do, few proved proficient in the corresponding most basic elements of hose-a-phone etiquette. Hence the "electric noodle" confusion. The assembled campers were then visited by a mysterious time traveler from the future, who told of a time paradox that sent them back to December 1910.
