Winter Camp III was held December 27-31, 1979. There were a total of 25 attendees, 21 of whom were youth. The youth leader was Michael Osvath and the adviser was Jeffrey Rand.
The catchphrase for the year was "We've achieved critical mass" because "Critical Mass" is defined here as a full cabin. 25 Arrowmen converbed on the Beaver Creek building for Winter Camp III, leading to an overcrowding problem. On the other hand, Winter Camp's growth in importance was certainly aided by this high participation and its long-term success seemed that much more assured.
The event scored 277 on the Winter Camp Evaluation system.
