Encyclopedia WinterCampica - Nap
This event, while certainly an unscheduled favorite of many Winter Campers, was formally scheduled as part of the Early Morning Experience at Winter Camp IX. The "Posthorn Gallop" sounded at 3:30 A.M. on Day Three, and Capture The Objective kicked off at 4:00. Following the game, a Religious Service, and a hearty breakfast, most campers were ready for additional rest, which the schedule conveniently provided at 7:30 A.M. The Winter Camp IX Activity Guide included instructions for the nap:
Members lie on beds with heads placed on pillows and bodies covered by sleeping bags. Deep personal introspection followed by loss of consciousness will be next. Lack of success will require counting of sheep.
During the closing moments of Winter Camp XXIX, Steve Donohue noted that he hadn't needed or wanted to nap during the entire Weekette, which was something of a first for him.
