Encyclopedia WinterCampica - Soldering Workshop
In his return to Winter Camp XXXIX after a 33-year absence, Dwayne Forsyth conducted a soldering workshop for all campers on Day Two. Dwayne brought multiple soldering irons to camp, and instructed participants in the construction of an LED badge shaped like the classical model of the atom.
As Dwayne exhibited some other projects, several campers were drawn to "The Cube", an intricately-connected cube of multicolored LEDs. Steve and Kristie Donohue purchased one and challenged Alan Wilson to assemble it the next day. Though Dwayne estimated that soldering all of the connections would require 2+ hours, Alan was able to put it together and have it working in 1:48:34.29. The Cube has returned to camp every year since its assembly.
