Winter Camp XI saw a variation of hockey contested in the field just north of Beaver Lake. In Snake Hockey, the puck is replaced by a "snake", which may be approximated by tying a tennis ball in each end of a sock. Ordinary sticks are used to push or fling the snake toward the opposing goal. As is somewhat usual on the Winter Camp athletic fields, the game got a little rough, and Steve Donohue was sidelined for most of the rest of the day by a check to the groin.
