Encyclopedia WinterCampica - Predator

Predator grew out of the Capture The Objective tradition, and replaced that game for Winter Camps XV-XVII. The two teams no longer had distinct territories and could range throughout Beaver Creek subcamp. The prey were themselves divided into two groups: youth and adults. The youth remained in a fixed nest, while the challenge for the adults was to raise the youth to adulthood by collecting 100 one-pound rocks for each infant. Plastic foam cups were scattered around the cabins and were the equivalent of 25 rocks. The predators, meanwhile, had as their goal the elimination of all the adult prey. They succeeded at Winter Camp XVI thanks to the betrayal of Ross Mullican, who, when captured, tipped off the predators to the location of the nest. In his own words, "I turned you all in and I'm glad!"
