OWC, with a military slant, was selected as the theme for Winter Camp XXXII by a vote of the youth on the last day of Winter Camp XXXI. A spoof edition of the Winter Camp News, announcing that "Barbie World" would be the 2008 theme, was produced and circulated to Clearwater cabin, where the resident youth had not been present in Beaver Creek cabin for the vote. In addition to a number of new military events and paramilitary-themed variations on old Winter Camp events, a M*A*S*H-style signpost outside the Beaver Creek building gave distances to important places, including Detroit, Tatooine, and Irving, TX. Keith King was responsible for the signpost and took charge of updating one sign to track Paul Kupser, who missed Winter Camp while on a Caribbean cruise.
