Winter Camp Legends
Porch cooking
| Origin | Winter Camp III (1979) |
| The Story | During the 100 dish banquet there were so many dishes to cook that campers cooked some of them on the porch of the Beaver Creek building. Back then, the building was used as a trading post during summer camp and so there were trading post counters where the stoves could rest. While the porch cooking is true, there were also hot plates and sterno in use inside. |
| Veracity | There are pictures. |
| Trigger | This is usually a fun story to tell when there's too many things to cook for a meal. |
| Positive Message | Scouts are resourceful and will get the job done. |
| Teller | Any geezer may tell this story. |
