Duty Roster Dodge
| Origin | Winter Camp XXXV (2011) |
| The Story | At Winter Camp XXXV, a blank duty roster was produced and members were asked to sign up for several meals. On the last night of camp, we distributed green t-shirts. Because a roster wasn't at hand, we grabbed the duty roster and just ran down the list giving people a shirt when their name came up. When the dust settled, two members turned out not to have signed up for any meal prep: Steve Harig and Will Gagnon. It was decided that they would have to do dishes after breakfast on the last day. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it was probably the best we could do. In the morning, it turned out the youth had taken matters into their own hands to administer a little justice. We had the traditional breakfast of Jackpot Grits, Toast, Milk, and Joice. The youth served the toast and grits on separate plates. Juice and milk were provided in separate glasses and if anyone requested seconds they were given a fresh bowl and spoon. It probably wasn't justice, but it was a lot closer than the adults had come. |
| Veracity | I remember coming up for a second bowl and Lucas Kuszala took my bowl and handed me a new one. I said, "I don't mind using the same bowl". He smiled and replied, "That's okay Mr. Donohue, today's a good day for extra dishes". |
