For many years, the Posthorn Gallop served as a very loud, very clear, wakeup call for WInter Camp.
We have now taken it as the day when we will launch Winter Camp officially by putting registration forms and other links on the site on November 11 of each year to get things fired up!

Why November 11? Well 11/11 is easy to remember and it's written the same way in European or American style dates. It's also:
- 1926 Approval of numbered highways in the US
- 1918 World War I ends
- The birthday of no Winter Campers (so far).
