| Description | Make up songs or stories about famous Winter Campers and Winter Camp events. |
| Basics | Back in the day, we used to refer to things as being "of song and story". I think it was from some cheesy fantasy novel. Anyhow, in preparing the museum entries, it quickly became clear that there were some items (like Jeff's broken hammer) whose original story had been lost. This contest then is to write, tell, sing, or recite a reasonable (ie, believable) explanation for that item's presence in the museum and then the group will vote on the stories and the winner will be the official legend of that item (hey, history is written by the winners, baby). Key to this contest is that once its over, there is only one true story of that item that any of us ever tell and which is recorded in various historical documents. Archaelogists, anthropologists and even physicists do it all the time, why not us? |
